I've been going back and forth on what I should post for you guys for a little while. I finally decided to share some behind the scenes content for some of my recent work. I am so excited to finally be able to share this film with you guys! At this point, it is really no secret how much I love making films. It is the most amazing experience to work on a film and find your way through each project's uniqueness and creative vibe. This film in particular was especially fun for a couple of different reasons! What a ride! Fun Fact #1: This film was shot entirely in my own home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! I was the lead performer and a location's vendor for this short. The set wasn't originally intended to be in my home, but as all filmmakers know things happen and vendors fall through. Having recently moved into an old home (originally built in 1910) with a ton of built-in mirrors, I felt like it truly was the best place to shoot the film. I signed up as a locations vendor to keep the ball rolling on the production, our producer Randy Lee ( www.randy213.com/ ) loved the space and the rest is history! Randy faced a lot of unique challenges on this set and overcame them one by one to keep this production on the move toward completion. He was organized and made sure everyone's needs were met. Fun Fact #2: You can tell from watching the short that there are a ton of amazing CGI & special effects done in post production. All of that is the work of the master Chris Niespodzianski (known for The Other Side), who was also our Director of Photography and one of our Producers. Chris layered different takes together to create the effects in mirrors which takes a lot of time. Not to mention that this location had mirrors EVERYWHERE which posed a challenge to Chris to keep himself out of the shot during production! Fun Fact #3: While there were a lot of special effects done in post, we had our awesome team of Special Effects Make Up Artists Ali Fleeman (Key) and Lindsey Donley to make all of our practical effects look amazing as well as our general beauty make up. Fun Fact #4: The most unique and exciting part of this film is that it was shot entirely on an iPhone 6 Plus. This served as a unique challenge for the production but in the end they proved that amazing things can be done with the technology! Our sound engineer Ray Mongelli spent all of the bathroom scenes in the bathtub to remain out of sight. This film had zero written dialogue but he was there to capture every creepy creek of the floor and gut wrenching scream. Thank you for watching our film and reading a little bit about all that goes into making a film happen. I would love to hear any of your questions or comments. You can leave them here on this blog post or directly on the film in YouTube! Thanks for reading!
