A good bit of running a successful acting hustle comes from an organized administrative foundation. Actors need to stay on top of the game when it comes to staying focused on the logistic side of keeping their business looking professional. Part of our job is to keep our casting profiles, websites, social media, and bookkeeping updated. These 5 sites will help put your administrative nightmares to rest. 1. PicresizeOften times, when you get your headshots back from your photographer, you will receive a huge image file that is not in the correct format to upload to all of your casting profiles. You will be required to upload your images at a certain file size for many of the casting sites. For ActorsAccess and LA Casting, and Now Casting you will need your image to be no greater than 500x700. You can use picresize.com to resize your images easily and quickly. 2. ClipChampThere will be times when you need to change the size or format of your self-taped auditions, demo reels, or slateshots to match a specific file format request. With ClipChamp you can do those things all in one place. 3. PixiesetPixieset is an online gallery that makes storing and sharing photos incredibly easy. I use Pixieset to store and share all of my portfolios. I have a headshot gallery and a modeling gallery that I can easily share via web link to my agents, my manager and potential clients. The formatting is crisp, clean and professional. My agents and managers can download directly from my gallery via a password I provide. Otherwise, all of your photos are protected from downloading. I love having pixieset as a backup storage solution just incase anything should happen to my laptop, my cloud, or any external harddrive. My images and portfolio I've spent years building will still be available via my pixieset account should a catastrophe strike! This one has been a life saver. 4. Mile IQThis is an app for your phone rather than a website, but it is very important. When tax season comes around and you are eligible for write offs, you're going to want to know exactly how many miles you've driven for all of those auditions, meetings, fittings, shoot days, interviews, and business lunches. It all adds up and every penny counts! 5. Weebly, Wix, or any Webpage HostIf you don't have a website specifically dedicated to your business, you need to make one. Imediately. Having a website adds credibility and gives you a space to shamelessly display what sets you apart from every other actor in the queue. On your webpage it is just you so take that opportunity to shine and run with it! I highly recommend purchasing your domain name. When choosing your domain name keep it simple. I provide acting services, modeling services and now photography services, so I made my domain name katiecetta.com so that my site served as a one stop shop for all of my professional skills. However, I have seen actors use fristnamelastnameactor.com before and I think that adds a nice flare! Definitely take advantage of the webhosts out there. It is easier than ever to create a site to help promote your business!
